Vintage cupcake class

Here are todays students, Laura & Liz who made amazing vintage style cupcakes at my vintage cupcake class.  They were amazed at what they had achieved.  They produced really beautiful cupcakes. I really enjoyed teaching them both.Image

Icing run out biscuit – good, bad & ugly!

Thought I’d post this….. people say I’m good at all this stuff. Well here is a disaster – it’s a gingerbread heart biscuit with a piped outline and runout icing in the centre. Could have thrown the first one in the bin and given up, but perfect by the 3rd attempt. Sometimes you have just got to walk away, make a cup of tea and try again!

Designer shoe disaster

This cake was for a lovely lady that has just got a job in Australia as a fashion buyer, her mum and dad are having a send off party for her and ordered it as a surprise.  The theme was designer fashion, Australia and work shoes.  It was all boxed up and ready to deliver this morning.  But after coming home past midnight last night, I thought I would just check on the cake and the shoes had collapsed.  Arghh!  Up at 6 a.m. this morning making another pair (smaller this time) and delivered the cake to a very happy customer, new shoes still intact.  Phew, near disaster missed!!

Here is the first pair (broken) and the finished cake.
